[Principle and indication for mini-plate osteozynthesis].

K L Gerlach, H D Pape.

Abstract

The use of the champy miniplate facilitates stable osteoxynthesis in the mandible with exclusive intraoral access. Reliable fixation of lateral and centrolateral fracture of the mid-face in the region of the sutura frontozygomatica is possible with miniplate osteosynthesis. The principle, which differs totally that of compression osteosynthesis, was described, and the operative procedure presented. The results of 431 miniplate osteosyntheses were reported.
