Abstract
We studied a 71-year-old patient with sinusbradycardia due to ingestion of food. He had a history of two syncopes at lunch. Mechanical irritation of the esophagus close to the atrium as well as insufflation of air into the stomach caused bradycardia with a heart rate of 28 per minute. Bradycardia could be suppressed with atropin given intravenously. There were no abnormal roentgenographic and pathological findings regarding the esophagus and the stomach.Entities:
