[Development and implementation of a computerized patient data system for a surgical intensive care unit].

P M Osswald.

Abstract

Data processing is convenient and requires no special skills on the part of the user. A large amount of data can be comprehensively processed. A comparison of old data with new is possible at all times, i.e. information collected in the past can be used in answering current questions. Statistical statements, i.e. complex numerical analyses are possible at a faster rate. Complex mathematical processes and solutions to questions of correlation are part of the daily routine and considerably improve the transparency of diagnostic and therapeutic efforts on behalf of the patient.
