The use of a resuscitation room: a review of current trends.

One hundred consecutive patients treated in the resuscitation room of the Accident and Emergency Department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh were studied and the results were compared with earlier surveys. Half the cases were medical emergencies, which suggests that this should be reflected in the training for specialists in accident and emergency medicine.
