Abstract
Eight Zebu cattle were infected with Trypanosoma vivax stock Y58, while 8 served as uninfected controls. The infected animals developed early leukopenia due to concomitant lymphopenia and neutropenia. It is suggested that an increase in trypanosomal antigens and neuraminidase in the infected cattle at this time may have an effect on peripheral leukocytes.Entities:
