The composition and origin of the gas produced during urological endoscopic resections.

Abstract

The gas produced from an in vitro model of transurethral resection was found to contain high concentrations of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. Evidence from a further experiment suggests that this gas is formed by the pyrolysis of animal tissue.
