Abstract
In a survey conducted by the authors, volunteer faculty members were found to be generally satisfied with their role in medical education, despite their acknowledgement of problems involving respect and responsibility when working with academic colleagues. These problems and the indifference of the volunteers to them are delineated. The structural reasons for simultaneous recognition of an indifference to problems are discussed in relation to the erosion of the utilization and authority of volunteer faculty members.Mesh:
