Studies on tomaymycin. II. Total syntheses of the antitumor antibiotics, E-and Z-tomaymycins.

Z Tozuka, H Takasugi, T Takaya.

Abstract

The total syntheses of naturally occurring E-tomaymycin (1E) and its olefinic geometrical isomer, Z-tomaymycin (1Z) are described. The Z-isomer was found to have the same anti-bacterial activity as E-isomer (1E).
