Tubulointerstitial nephropathies.

R S Cotran.

Abstract

Significant tubulointerstitial disease is multifactorial in origin, and two or more causes may coexist in the same patient. Since removal of the responsible agent or agents is often curative, careful etiologic diagnosis is essential to effective management. Etiology and pathophysiologic mechanisms, therapeutic regimens, and prognosis for several of the various forms of the disease are discussed.
