A case report of total knee arthroplasty infected by Pasteurella multocida.

Abstract

A 72-year-old woman with a total knee prosthesis was infected with Pasteurella multocida organisms from a cat bite. The joint was successfully salvaged by surgical debridement, closed tube irrigation utilizing .25% acetic acid and appropriate antibiotics.
