Abstract
The advantages and disadvantages of previous methods for the routine estimations of serum mono and diamine oxidase are reviewed. 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy phenyl acetic acid reacts wtih hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase to form an intensely fluorescent substance, and a simple method using this reaction as a basis for the estimation is described.
