An acquired oesophageal pouch in childhood: a problem of diagnosis.

M F Ramadan, J H Rogers.

Abstract

A case report of a child with an acquired oesophageal pouch is presented. A chronically impacted radio-lucent coin in the oesophagus resulted in a dilatation of the oesophagus above the obstruction. This dilatation mimicked a pharyngeal pouch and the problems of diagnosis are discussed.
