Abstract
Studies of the effects of otitis media on cognitive development in children have not been extensive. In this paper the nature of the variables thought to influence cognitive development in the first two years of life are described. The relationship between cognitive development and language development is reviewed. The distinction between cognition and intelligence is made. The studies of the behavioral sequelae of otitis media are reviewed and suggestions are made concerning the importance of including behavioral analyses in major projects concerning otitis media in young children.Entities:
