Sampling and analytical method to determine PCB concentrations in the air of the working areas of an electrical industry.

We have made a series of measurements aimed at determining the pollution by PCBs in the air inside the buildings of an electrical industry. Three sampling and analytical methods were tried and the differences in their accuracies were estimated. Based on these results but also taking into account the need of an easy and practical implementation, a particular method was chosen whose precision was measured under different conditions of collection. With this method we have measured the air concentration of PCBs in both personal and fixed location samplers. Area samplers were located in a number of indicative positions inside the rooms in the factory. Personal samplers were collected on the staff during the work shifts.
