Abstract
We determined the effect of organic nitrates on normal volunteers and patients with open-angle and narrow-angle glaucoma. Nitroglycerin lowered intraocular pressure in all patients when administered by the perfusion technique. Isosorbide dinitrate given orally (2 x 40 mg per day) has a potent decreasing effect on intraocular pressure, which cannot be explained by the influence on arterial blood pressure.Entities:
