Abstract
The Herbert Bone Screw has a thread at both ends and was originally developed for internal fixation of fractured scaphoid bones. The two main advantages of compression and no head, make it most suitable for internal splinting of the small joints of the hand. The authors have used this device on thirty-nine joints in ten different sites of the hand, and it has proved to be an extremely successful method.Mesh:
