Abstract

An "unexpected" fatal case of the hypereosinophilic syndrome in a 30-year-old man with perennial rhinitis, alcoholic intolerance and asthma is presented. Histological post-mortem examination showed extensive myocarditis and eosinophilic pneumonia.
