The projection from the superior colliculus to the dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus in the rat.

B E Reese.

Abstract

The projection of the superior colliculus upon the dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus of the rat was examined by autoradiographic methods following injection of [3H]proline into the superior colliculus. A topographic projection was revealed, with the terminal distribution restricted to an outer lamina covering the dorso-lateral and caudal surface of the nucleus.
