Functional encopresis: psychiatric inpatient treatment.

Encopresis can be considered an indication for psychiatric hospitalization in the multiproblem child, such as the one described in this report. Integration of observations from multiple treatment modalities were helpful in assessing the patient's progress and guiding interventions.
