Abstract
Sexually related recurrent urinary tract infections were caused by a method of contraception, the diaphragm, in 74 per cent of the women in this study. Urodynamic studies demonstrated severe alteration in urinary flow and elevation of the bladder neck angles. By altering the fit of the diaphragm, or changing to another form of birth control, 96 per cent of these women were infection-free at one year without antibiotic suppression.Entities:
