Abstract
The interaction between reserpine and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents ( NSAIA ) in producing experimental gastric ulcers was studied in rats. The ulcerating effects of reserpine, indomethacin, ketoprofen and phenylbutazone were found to be dose-dependent. The area of gastric mucosal lesions was highly significantly increased if NSAIA were injected intraperitoneally 3 min after reserpine. Reserpine and NSAIA in doses which by themselves did not produce gastric mucosal damage, induced gastric ulcers in all experimental animals when injected simultaneously.Entities:
