Abstract
A patient with massive intravascular Heinz-body hemolytic anemia associated with the presence of bizarre-looking erythrocytes following the oral ingestion of approximately 100 mL of "penetrating oil", a petroleum distillate containing 85% kerosene, 12% cresol and 2% surfactant, is described. He was treated successfully with immediate erythrocytapheresis and forced diuresis.Entities:
