Abstract
We describe a case of unilateral choroidal osteoma in a young white women referred to our office for evaluation of a possible malignant melanoma. The characteristic findings corresponding with other reported cases in the literature are a slightly elevated, yellow-white choroidal tumor lying in the posterior pole with the borders well defined; depigmentation of the pigment epithelium; and vascular tuft networks located on the tumor's surface. Our findings were characteristic of the previously observed choroidal osteoma results. Equator-plus photography was utilized for improved visualization of tumor size and activity. The pertinent clinical testing procedures aiding in the identification of this entity are presented.Entities:
