Abstract
Congenital cysts are unusual findings in the esophagus. We present a case report and discussion of the literature regarding this subject. We reviewed and classified 91 reported cases of congenital esophageal cysts. The embryology, distribution, and symptoms of each type of esophageal cyst are emphasized. Diagnosis of these tumors is quite difficult and the treatment is surgical. A brief discussion of acquired esophageal cysts and neuroenteric cysts is included for the sake of completeness.Entities:
