An unusual course of femoral head necrosis complicating an intertrochanteric fracture in a child.

P T Nielsen, P Thaarup.

Abstract

Necrosis of the femoral head following intertrochanteric fracture occurred in a ten-year-old boy. A good anatomic and functional result was obtained by two years of nonweight-bearing. The case illustrates the importance of careful clinical and radiographic follow-up examination in children with intertrochanteric fractures.
