Abstract
Fifty-two pig metacarpal bones were osteotomized and internally fixed using a variety of wiring techniques. Fixed constructs were then loaded to failure while several biomechanical parameters were measured. Tension-band stabilization provided superior strength, stiffness, and approximation. Crossed K-wire fixation was distinctly inferior with regard to these same parameters.Entities:
