Abstract
We examined genetically determined polymorphisms in testosterone-binding beta-globulin (TeBG) by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). Four electrophoretic variants were identified, which we suggest are the result of combinations of three alleles. Gene frequencies were calculated for the three alleles in white American, black American, and Japanese-American populations. There was good agreement between observed and expected phenotype numbers. Distribution of phenotypes among offspring of several crosses was consistent with simple Mendelian inheritance of an autosomal gene.Entities:
