Abstract
Using a test developed in 1977, visual screening via television is now beginning to be carried out on a large scale. The test consists of two parts, a visual acuity test and a visual field test using a modification of the multiple pattern method of Harrington and Flocks. It has been useful and has been well received by the public. A great advantage of the testing method is that many thousands of people can be simultaneously screened in a 10-minute period. The accuracy of the test is discussed. The videotape program is now available for broadcast from the National Society to Prevent Blindness, Inc.Entities:
