Abstract
Thyrotoxicosis from an overdose of medicinal thyroid is a condition which may be associated with a significant delay in onset of toxicity. We report a case treated with plasmapheresis, and conclude that the amount of thyroid hormone removed was insignificant compared to the total ingestion. We also note that the plasma half-life of thyroxine is apparently reduced in an acute massive ingestion.Entities:
