Brucellosis in spouses and the possibility of interhuman infection.

M Stantić-Pavlinić, V Ceĉ, J Mehle.

Abstract

This paper deals with a Brucella infection in a laboratory worker and his wife. The diagnosis of brucellosis was proved by isolating Brucella melitensis, biotype 2, from blood cultures and by the standard serum agglutination test. In the absence of any alternative epidemiologic information, the authors consider this case to be an example of interhuman infection.
