Tropical pyomyositis and myoglobinuria.

Abstract

A 24-year-old Samoan woman had rhabdomyolysis, myoglobinuria, and acute renal failure, secondary to tropical pyomyositis. The pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, and management of pyomyositis and myoglobinuric renal failure are reviewed.
