Abstract
A case of an epidemic by Tinea cruris and Tinea pedis in a tyre factory in Sicily is reported. There was noticeable spread of the causative agents throughout the environment. They were mainly transmitted by wash-basins in the footbaths, by footboards of showers and in smaller numbers by towels. Trichosporon beigelii was the most common fungus isolated from the environment, followed by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Candida parapsilosis and Geotrichum candidum.Entities:
