Segregation and mapping of allozymes of the apple maggot fly.

S H Berlocher, D C Smith.

Abstract

The genetics of electrophoretic enzyme variants (allozymes) of 11 enzymes of the apple maggot, Rhagoletis pomonella, has been investigated by single-pair crosses. All allozymes segregated as simple Mendelian genes. Null alleles occur at two enzymes--phosphoglucomutase and alcohol dehydrogenase. Five linkage groups have been established.
