Coccidioidal peritonitis.

K T Chen.

Abstract

Two cases of asymptomatic peritoneal coccidioidomycosis are described. The diagnoses were made from incidental herniorrhaphy in both cases. One patient who also had involvement of the chest wall did not receive systemic antifungal therapy but remained well one year later. The second patient received systemic amphotericin B and was asymptomatic six months later. A review of previously reported cases indicated that uncomplicated cases of coccidioidal peritonitis are usually self-limited.
