[Plate osteosynthesis of unstable fractures of the wrist with anterior displacement].

Abstract

A shaped plate was used for internal fixation of 23 fractures of the anterior margin of the lower end of the radius and of 5 Smith's fractures. Exposure was improved by opening the carpal tunnel. The fractures were accurately reduced and temporarily maintained by K wires before application of the plate and screws. Satisfactory results were obtained.
