Abstract
Even though advances in aseptic care have reduced the incidence of endophthalmitis, the conjunctiva still is not sterilized for surgery. This article presents a simple preoperative preparative procedure which, in a series of 225 surgical cases, reduced the incidence of positive postoperative cultures to 9.6%, a much lower percentage than has been reported previously.Entities:
