Gardnerella vaginalis bacteremia: a review of thirty cases.

L G Reimer, L B Reller.

Abstract

The authors documented thirty cases of bacteremia, all in gynecologic and obstetric patients, over a four-year period at a university hospital. Sixteen of the patients had polymicrobial infections. Most of the patients recovered completely whether or not antimicrobial therapy directed against Gardnerella vaginalis was given. G vaginalis bacteremia may occur more often than has been reported.
