Pancreatica magna aneurysm: rupture into the pancreatic duct.

S Salmassi.

Abstract

A 49-year-old black man had rupture of a pancreatica magna aneurysm into the pancreatic duct as an inflammatory consequence of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic pseudocyst. It is the ninth reported case of splenic arterial branch rupture due to chronic pancreatitis and the seventh reported case due to chronic pancreatitis associated with pancreatic pseudocyst, and is presented to emphasize its importance as a possible cause of gastrointestinal bleeding.
