Abstract
Four patients with myeloproliferative disorders and hypokalemia due to an artifactual in vitro phenomenon are described. Hypokalemia was due to an increased potassium uptake by the abnormal white blood cells. Spurious hypokalemia may explain in part the electrolyte disturbances found in many leukemic patients.Entities:
