Abstract
Mental stress is thought to promote the development of peptic ulcer. In the present study the effect of mental stress induced by noise on gastric acid secretion and mucosal blood flow was studied. A 90 dBA broad frequency noise applied by headphones increased diastolic and systolic blood pressure by 4 and 8 mmHg, but left acid secretion and mucosal blood flow unchanged.Entities:
