Experience with sagittal splitting of the horizontal ramus in mandibular prognathism.

U Joos, G Göz, W Schilli.

Abstract

Intra-oral sagittal splitting of the horizontal mandibular ramus is only possible to a limited extent in the treatment of patients with mandibular prognathism and a deep overbite. However, this operation has given stable results up to 3 years postoperatively in cases of prognathism with open bite.
