Abstract
The effect of treatment with indomethacin on diethylnitrosamine (DENA, CAS:55-18-5; N-nitrosodiethylamine)-induced esophageal tumors was investigated in 128 C57BL mice. The number of DENA-induced esophageal tumors was significantly reduced when indomethacin was given together with DENA from the outset, suggesting that indomethacin may prevent the induction of esophageal tumors in the C57BL mouse. Similarly, esophageal tumors were significantly reduced when indomethacin was given 4 months after DENA treatment, suggesting that the delayed indomethacin administration may inhibit the further appearance of additional esophageal tumors in the C57BL mouse.Entities:
