Abstract
The changes in ionized calcium during dialysis and ultrafiltration with albumin containing solutions were highly dependent on the total electrolyte concentration. Protein interference on the calcium electrode could not explain the observation, which was, however, consistent with the Donnan theory. The uneven distribution of sodium ion also agreed with a Donnan membrane potential.Entities:
