Abstract
Iron-deficiency anaemia in a 68-year-old female patient with diabetes mellitus was associated with a marked rise in glycosylated haemoglobin level (from 10.7% to 15.4%). After treatment of the iron-deficiency anaemia, the glycosylated haemoglobin level fell to 11.0%. Control of her diabetes, as assessed by other measures, appeared to be satisfactory throughout.Entities:
