Postpartum depression. Identification of high-risk mothers.

J M Petrick.

Abstract

Various types of puerperal depressions, symptoms exhibited, and factors that predispose women to develop postpartum depression are reviewed. A case example of a woman who experienced a postpartum depression is discussed. A prenatal checklist is presented to assist clinicians working in obstetrics in evaluating the risk of postpartum depression in their various clients.
