[Functional stenosis. Current theory of the pathogenesis of meniscal ganglion].

T Stuhler.

Abstract

A new theory to pathogenesis of menisceal cysts will be demonstrated. There are many reasons that the so called lateral menisceal cyst grow from a recessus popliteus like ganglia to a "Stenosis-valve-mechanism". Otherwise the seldom medial menisceal ganglia will arise e.g. from bursa anserina. There will be too the possibility of small synovialrecessus of the joint which follow behind the lateral and medial meniscus.
