Abstract
Red blood cell (RBC) contamination of cultures of peripheral blood mononuclear cells does not suppress pokeweed mitogen (PWM) induced immunoglobulin synthesis. At supra-optimal doses of PWM immunoglobulin production is enhanced in the presence of RBCs. The degree of RBC contamination is a factor to be considered in interpreting the results obtained with PWM induced Ig synthesis in disease.Entities:
