Abstract
Sudden movement of a high contrast grating in peripheral retina selectively reduces the sensitivity of human observers to low spatial frequency sinusoidal gratings, presented at the fovea. The suppression is similar to that observed using spots as targets. It is suggested that both these effects result from masking by the physiological periphery effect.Entities:
