Abstract
Spontaneous intercostal lung herniae are infrequently described. Presented is a patient whose hernia arose after a vigorous cough. Treatment consisted of excision of the sac and repair. Demonstration of the defect roentgenographically and on physical examination is diagnostic. The defect can regress spontaneously; surgery is frequently curative, although techniques vary.Entities:
