Occult eccrine sweat duct hamartoma and cicatricial scalp alopecia.

D J Trozak, C Wood.

Abstract

A second case of eccrine ductal proliferation of the scalp which presented as cicatricial alopecia is reported. Histopathology is compatible with a diagnosis of eccrine sweat duct hamartoma. This case seems to establish a rare clinical occurrence of sweat gland cyst formation which microscopically resembles syringoma.
